Virtual Reality "Enter Player 1"
Where do you see Virtual Reality going and how will it impact your cell phone in terms of advertising potential?
Oculus and Samsung VR dominate the virtual reality market, but with devices costing a pretty penny, people were not eager to jump on board right away. It wasn't until Google came to the rescue and made the Google Cardboard, costing only about two bucks to make.
With VR devices being compatible to smart phones, which everyone has, VR experiences went from virtually impossible to an actual reality. Everyone constantly has a cell phone in front of them. Even right now, you're probably reading this on a phone or its sitting right next to your computer. Of course phones are the most popular way to advertise. With virtual reality, becoming the next huge thing, advertising is heading their way.
By immersing users into the artificial world created by advertisers, people will become involved with the story. Empathy is the name of the game and you are the player. Instead of advertisers telling you to "Imagine the what-if...", they can just plug you into their simulated world and say "Go at it!" Involving sight, sound, three-dimenional touch, and physical interaction in virtual reality adds a new proposition in immersive storytelling by giving you the full experience. You are the character and this is your world.
There will be no longer a need to imagine yourself climbing Mount Everest when you can actually see yourself doing it through the wonderful world of VR.
